Depth Of Field Exercise

Description

This was created to illustrate how Depth Of Field works.
I positioned the row of mugs 6 inches apart and set up my tripod at the end. I used a 50mm lens and the ISO was 200

I focused on the Denny's mug in the middle and then turned off my auto focus. I set the camera to aperture mode so that I just altered the aperture and the camera worked out the shutter speed for me.

During this shoot, the ONLY thing that I changed was the aperture setting.

The aperture used to take the individual image of given in the top left corner.

Just another small note. From the image labeled F7.1, you can also see hyperfocal distance coming into play. As always, the Denny's mug is in focus, but the mugs behind start to become clearer (in focus) before the mugs in front.

Very useful and well illustrated.
Did you really buy a Denny's mug, or did you steal it? ^^
